St. Patrick’s Day Fun

Greenery, Games, and a Whole Lot of Laughs

St. Patrick’s Day is a celebration of Irish heritage and the legacy of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. Over time, what began as a religious feast day grew into a worldwide celebration of Irish culture—filled with the color green, shamrocks, music, good cheer, and that unmistakable spirit of fun. Whether you’re Irish by blood or Irish for the day, it’s really about community: sharing stories, laughter, and a little bit of playful mischief.

And that’s exactly what we found aboard the Coral Princess—even as we celebrated a day early.

A Sea Day with a Splash of Irish Green

We had a busy day at sea celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, and it started the right way: by decorating our door with some Irish greenery. It’s amazing how a little green can instantly set the mood—like a small signal to the hallway that yes, we’re joining in. And we were not afraid to make sure we wore the green proudly all day long.

Most of the afternoon was spent playing cards in the Horizon Buffet area with our newly found friends plus Bob and Helen (from Toronto). Sea days have their own rhythm, and ours was a comfortable mix of ocean views, friendly competition, and plenty of laughs between hands.

I had Ukulele group today and we made sure Captain America and Deadpool were having an Irish Day as well.

Trivia Night in the Explorer Lounge

In the evening, we headed to a Trivia event in the Explorer Lounge—always a fun way to test your knowledge (and your confidence). But as enjoyable as trivia was, it was what came next that completely stole the show.

“Rock the Room” — and the Room Was Rocking

I wish I could truly portray the fun everyone had at the "Rock the Room" event. The lounge was packed—likely 200 to 300 people—and participation wasn’t optional in spirit, because everyone was into it.

The room was divided into two teams, and each round called for someone with a very specific “designation” to sprint to the front and answer the question that was asked. It had to be someone that could meet this criteria like:

  • Someone with red hair

  • Someone wearing high heels

  • Someone holding something wooden ( some guy carried the chair to the front)

  • Someone to imitate something from “Crocodile Rock” -Lisa crawled on the floor

  • Someone who could imitate something from “Who Let the Dogs Out” - I played a dog and pretended to urinate on the organizer

  • Someone with short shorts - check out the photo although it was a rushed picture

Those who met the criteria had to run up and either answer a music quiz question or act out the answer. And people committed—fully.

Our friend Lisa absolutely owned her moment by crawling across the stage on her belly like a crocodile. And I ended up on my hands and knees pretending to be a dog… and yes, I “urinatied” on the leg of the event coordinator. One person even carried an armchair to the front, declaring the legs were wood—therefore meeting the “something wooden” requirement. The whole room was in stitches.

By the end, everyone formed a conga line that wound its way around the lounge, and the entire place was buzzing—one of those nights where you look around and realize the fun is contagious.

Earlier in the day we even took a photo of our Ukulele Group on the 7th deck as a keepsake for those that may be departing in the next week, as not everyone is onboard for the full Circle Cruise. Check out the greenery !

Happy (Early) St. Patrick’s Day

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day to ALL of our friends back home —from Jan and I, aboard the Coral Princess, celebrating one day in advance, and loving every minute of it!
