Our 2024 Cruise to New York City

On Aug. 2nd Out to See, and Captain Paul, will be leaving the docks of Wye Heritage Marina in Midland, and heading through the Trent Canal Waterway System to Trenton where we will meet up with Jan, Kyle and Cynthia. It is here that they will board the boat for our trip through the US. During the Trent portion of the cruise a good friend Dave, and his son Austin will be on board to help getting through the 43 locks and 386 KM's on the Trent.  We expect to arrive in Trenton by Aug. 7th, at which time they will depart and head back to their home.

Given we get a good weather window, we plan to cruise across Lake Ontario on Aug. 8th and arrive in Oswego NY. where we will stay for one evening. The remainder of our southbound course will take us through the Oswego Canal and then eastbound on Erie Canal to the Hudson River. There are many free docks along the Canal system where we can overnight and we plan to visit many small towns along the way. Once we are in the Hudson River we will be heading southbound passing many larger cities and historic sites including the West Point Academy. We will be posting as many photos as we can and hopefully let you know of any Hallman Experiences we incur, as we head south.

We will be docked for three nights at the Hudson Point Marina (https://www.hudsonpointmarina.com) in New Jersey, across from the World Trade Center and within walking distance of Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty and the ferry to Manhattan.

We will be heading back up the Hudson on Aug 17th and doing the cruise in reverse, with arrival back in Trenton on Aug. 24th where Jan, Kyle and Cynthia will depart and drive back home. My two Brother-in-laws (Bruce and Chester) will board in Trenton and help through the locks on the trip back to Wye Heritage Marina arriving by the end of August.​
